Thanks, guys! And wasn't it the same fight music in about every episode, too...?  :D

Finally, two months later, we played Mission 2 of our Star Wars campaign using Space Weirdos rules.

Deep in the desert of Tatooine, a TIE fighter base responsible for patrolling an area rife with Tusken raids, has received instructions to go through its computer coding for its perimeter defenses. There has been a possible security breach in Mos Eisley, and upgrading systems is recommended. When a squad of Bronze Legion mercenaries are flown in to augment the flight line's security, the base commander decides perhaps the instructions were more urgent than he realized. The technicians begin to work their way through the laborious re-coding process when alarm sounds. All perimeter security defense have been over-ridden and taken offline by a signal of unknown origin. The base commander orders the flight line on full alert!

Although the defending factions (Empire, Corporate Security, Mercenaries) all fought tenaciously, knocking out more attackers than losses taken, the rebels were able to blow up two TIE fighters and were still in the game when we finally called it. I will need some more buildings for Mission 3 of our Star Wars campaign using Space Weirdos. I picked these three up the previous weekend at a convention from Diabolical Terrain. They are from their "Tatooie" line:
https://diabolicalterrain.com/collections/desert-buildings

They paint up very quickly and look great, I think, on the tabletop. I now have six of these prints (one of each of their line) to go with my other Sci-Fi buildings. Look for them in an upcoming game!

For more pictures of them and discussion how I prepare and paint them, check out my Lead Legionaries blog here:

Another thing I bought at Historicon painted up -- 3-D printed Canyon Rocks and Stacks. These are also from Diabolical Terrain (https://diabolicalterrain.com/).

These paint up very quickly. I started with khaki spray paint priming them, and following up with a craft paint in roughly the same color to make sure all the cracks and crevices are covered. Next, I dry brushed highlights white. Final step is to cover them with Vallejo brown vehicle wash.

I'm really happy with how they turned out. Adding these eight pieces to the nine I'd previously painted up, and I can likely fill up a significant section of a board with them.

So, look for a scenario set in the wilds of Tatooine sometime! More photos on my Lead Legionaries blog here:

Thanks, everyone! Another update soon. I try to go all "Nozza-like" and make some civilians from Stargrave boxes. Stay tuned...I'll likely finish the flocking and post them by Monday evening.

And here are said Sci-Fi civilians. I used the plastic Stargrave kits, sorting through torsos, heads, and arms to come up with something that looked decent NOT carrying a weapon. I need at least four of them for my next Star Wars skirmish.

Two of my favorites out of the batch of six. I probably shouldn't have been a cheapskate, and instead just bought some packs of figures specifically sculpted as civilians. I have four of those Stargrave boxes, though, and figure it was worth a try? What do guys think? Did they turn out okay?

More pics, including closeup of the other four, on my Lead Legionaries blog here: https://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2025/08/some-sci-fi-civilians-using-stargrave.html

The only real drawback of going on holiday and embracing a digital detox? Missing out on epic updates like these!

Absolutely loving the Canyon Rocks and Stacks - fantastic paintwork and they look super versatile. And getting a name check too - what a treat!  lol
The Sci-fi civilians are amazing; they all look fantastic and have a real Star Wars vibe.

We played Mission #3 of our Star Wars campaign using Space Weirdos this past Sunday. I had to make a last-minute tweak of the scenario to accommodate a 7th player. He doesn't get a chance to show up regularly due to his work schedule, and the last thing I wanted was for him to show up and not be able to play! I worked him in as the armed, angry, and dangerous Mos Eisley citizens striking back at the hated imperial presence. He said he had a good time and enjoyed it, so I'm glad I didn't simply postpone the game.

Up to this point, the rebels had won all of the scenarios, more or less. Would this be the game that the Empire "strikes back," so to speak? In this game, the Empire -- stung into action by last game's rebel raid on a TIE fighter base -- track down and capture three rebel technicians responsible for the hacks in their defensive systems. They are moving their column of prisoners towards the main square where their vehicles, and a couple of armored, imperial city walkers, await.

The Rebel Alliance, Local Rebels, and Mos Eisley citizens lash out at the imperial incursion into their town. Will Darth Pylor and his Stormtroopers, Corporate Security, and Bronze Legion mercenaries make it back with their captives in tow? Or will they be cut off and shot to pieces in the narrow, winding alley ways of Tatooine's most infamous town?
