Oh I do like 'em cows! The vehicles not so much as to my eye there's a certain flatness to the tank wheels, but I'm sure a man of your brush skills will be more than capable of changing my mind. Very much looking forward to seeing this progress.

I know what you mean, however these are all pretty basic models, that are available for free on the web. Once I'm happy with the printer, and what I think it can do I will purchase slightly more complex and detailed models. The M4A2 despite being free is perhaps an example of this with step up level of detail over say the Firefly model.

Looking forward to seeing those vehicles all tarted up!

Cheers, I'm just looking at what paints I might need (always need more paints  ;))

And another freebi file, this time from WoWBuildings who is currently modelling the centre of Villers Bocage ahead of a Kickstarter.

Wow, the level of detailing continues to impress. What printer are you using?

The main reason for getting my 3d printer (filament) was to print buildings and terrain, the secondary was to create storage boxes for my figures. These stackable boxes just fit on the print bed, and hold a platoon each, with a little to spare. Printing quality is not quite as good as I would like, so I will persevere with that over time, but they work as intended. The top tray will hold dice and other bits, and it's occurred to me if I line it with felt/baize it will serve well as dice tray.  Pleased, but room for a little improvement in print quality.

Fresh prints for the top 2 boxes now I have the settings sorted and am getting decent print quality. I'll add a 4th box to cover all the infantry support units and similar for both sides. Figures all nice and safe now

The storage solution is very impressive and cool.

Some FDM printed builds at 15mm - Peter Pig figures for scale. The two stand alone buildings will be based together with some high walls to create a farm complex.

What settings did you use on your Bambu? 0.4 or 0.2 nozzle, supports, layerheights?

Those buildings look very nice. Your storage boxes are very nifty too.

Gunbird - I pretty much try anything. Nozzle is definitly 0.2, but I have printed at 0.06 and 0.1 and can't really see a difference other than the latter saves a lot of time. For the larger footprint buildings I use a 5mm brim to help keep the corners from lifting, albeit with limited success, and I'm happy with using normal supports, baseplate only, if the slicer recommends supports.

I do print each part separately, rather than load the plate up, as this seems to improve the success rate for an acceptable print.

Nice to know we are doing basically the same. Just tried it as a 3 part on a plate with some supports but it just ripped apart the base of the 1st floor. That begin said, I'm having tons of issues like that with the files from WoW that I'm not having with other designers.

I'll try again over the weekend.

Oh, I still use the 0.4 nozzle. For scenery etc, switching to the 0.2 doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and I print standard at 0.08 layerheight. Works fine for 99% of my stuff.

Is that the free STL, same as my print, as early versions of it had an issue with the bases not being flat. I think the floor planks pushed through. Try and cut a thin slice off the ground floor part in the slicer, repair and then print. It should help

I do find quite a lot of differences within PLA as well. I'm using Overture Matte PLA at the moment and I have to drop the max nozzle temp, and print at 50% speed to get it working. I do like its finish, but it is very fussy. Best PLA i have used is the Bambu Labs PLA Matte, follwed by the Sunlu Matte which is cheaper.
