The Scottish Corridor - a CoC campaign (updated 03 09 25)
« on: June 11, 2025, 08:10:29 AM »
Having played the Chain of Command campaign Operation Martlet last year we held off following it with The Scottish Corridor to await the publication of Chain of Command v2.

With freshly printed copies in our hands we embarked on the campaign last week and the first full game report (fully v2 compliant!), is up on the blog. I've included reflections on the changes and new rules as we play. It's not a revolution, more an evolution, and so far I like what I see.

You can find the game report of the first scenario here: http://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2025/06/the-scottish-corridor-scenario-1-probe.html

Great looking battle.  Just a point - the probe needs a section not a team to exit the table.

I enjoyed that AAR TP.  Also, it's a great introduction of how CoC2 changes can be applied.

Ah yes, indeed it does, well spotted. Just goes to show v2 needs a careful read as it’s easy to take too much for granted.

Yeah we have the same issues - careful reading is really essential for us too  8)

A quick return to the campaign with our second game. Now we shift to the German attack on the western flank of the salient. Can the British do a little bit better this time or will the panzer grenadiers prevail yet again? The full game report is here:

Absolutely stunning set up, it really looks like a village in Normandy - a testemony to your terrain making  and collection ! I am very happy to see another campaign unfold - these AARs are so nicely written and illustrated, it is always a pleasure.

I also like a lot how these rules "unfold" and offer an vast array of tactical choices that may or may not pay off.

Enjoyable read as always, thanks for posting.

Exhausted the superlatives for your terrain and AAR write ups.

Cheers

Well now.  The record is 1-1.  Let's see who gets best 2 out of 3...

Great reports, by the way...

The British mount a limited counterattack to disrupt the German timetable and so we return to the site of our first game at Bas de Mouen. The game was short, but I wouldn't say it was sweet. Full report here:

Looks like the Germans got best 2 out of 3.

Another good report, outcome notwithstanding.... 8)

The campaign continues and we move back to the opposite flank, where the Germans continue their push into Le Valtru. The British held them off the first time, can they succeed at the second attempt? Well, that was sub-optimal, at least from the British perspective.  Good report, though!

The Germans continue their assault in the fifth game of the campaign. The panzer grenadiers are showing how capable they are of inflicting casualties on the British and the men's opinion has slumped accordingly. Can the British manage to stall the Germans, but avoid paying a heavy price?
