Midgard game with 15's - a dramatic reenactment

due to my ongoing inability to take photos while the game is in progress, here is a reenactment

we can see the orcs had a difficult time on that hill

orcs are ex-battlevalor minis, saxon-types are forged in battle from a few ranges

barrows are foam blocks

You've got a very unique look with those barrows, what was your inspiration?

The idea for the barrows was fairly plain, I had first thought to make them grassy hills. Then I had watched one of Black Magic Crafts videos using individual foam blocks, so I ran out a bunch of blocks in different sizes. this also let me reduce the footprint of each piece because they dont slope, and can now fit on the bases im using for Midgard

I decided I couldnt stand painting them grey, Ive painted way too much concrete over the last couple years. so I went with tans and ochres, with some blocks picked out in red, and then speckled greens and yellows overall. and then a sand + tufts + flocking to finish

with these finished, im thinking of doing some larger roman ruins next
