We’re excited to reveal SHARPE’S RIFLES - a new officially licensed hard plastic range and game to bring the world of Bernard Cornwell’s Richard Sharpe to the tabletop! A first!

To kick off this fantastic new game line we are starting with a very new kind of product from us with a character frame that includes both a 28mm and a 54mm version of Richard Sharpe as he was in Sharpe’s Rifles.

We will be following the Sharpe box with similar frames for Harper, Riflemen Harris, and other notable characters from Sharpe’s Rifles. Andy Hobday is hard at work on the rules which will be revealed with the launch of the first game next spring.

Now that's soldiering...

I already do Sharpe-sized skirmishes with Rebels and Patriots, so this is very interesting.

Shame they are so late on this one, i have already more 28mm rifles than i can ever use.  Plenty on the market,I would have much rathered they had put out the Napoleonic civilians pack i heard discussed about several years ago.

For Napoleonic skirmishing games, 95th Rifles and Sharpe characters are like Romans — everybody will buy them and no one will lose money making yet another range.

For building Silver Bayonet forces, I decided to pas over the Rifles figuring there would be several other folks around here bringing them to the table.  Figured that correctly.  (Still have half an eye on the lovely character sculpts Brigade Games has though...)

The digital range not having a 3d printer is not what I want, not to mention i found really difficult at their website to try to sift through it to find any figs of interest. I found a fellow who told me he would print for me but i found the friction wasn’t worth the time.

if they did the camp followers as plastics (i like to kit bash) i would buy a couple of packs f’sure.  If these rifles had come out two or three years ago, i would have bought them immediately but sadly they are just too late, and the market is well saturated with good plastic and metal riflemen from many manufacturers. I already have Sharpe and Harper both on foot and mounted.  Now if we can convert the rifles into something else (cacadores? KGL lights? Crimean war?) i might still get a box but it’s reallly low priority.

WA always struck me as being all over the map regarding the product line and timing.

WA already produce a box of British Napoleonic Rifles 👍 Presumably they will use those with these new character figures.

Yeah, i just realized i have a box of them sitting buried in my lead mountain bought sometime back and forgotten.   o_o.  I really do have toooo many rifles….

So, any chance to see those camp followers in a plastics/resin box? For the life of me i spent the better part of an hour last night looking for the mentioned digital files on the website, and never could find them.

I hope we'll get new infantry... the current ones heads are nice and characterful, but the legs are odd... besides that reads as getting these special sprues for each of the chosen men, which relegates the existing sprue to unit builder status really...

Things have gone a bit quiet since the initial announcement, and I've noticed that nobody from Wargames Atlantic (certainly as far as I can tell) has answered some of the more "critical" questions. Questions that, tbh, have stopped me from pre-ordering, even though I'm a total Sharpe nerd. Maybe it's been discussed elsewhere? From what I've gathered so far:

- What's the game actually like? How many figures will we need for a typical game?
- If it's a TV licence (Sharpe Films is the licensor), why don't either of the sculpts look like Sean Bean? Will any of the characters have an actor likeness?
- Is every model a named character, or will their be "grunts"? (if it's like the TV show, expect the same 20 French soldiers to fall down and get back up again every 3 minutes  lol)
- Will they all have a 54mm display figure with them to justify 20 quid per figure? If so, I'm going to end up with a big pile of unused plastic and a big financial outlay.
