Wargames Atlantic just announced the public test phase of their upcoming sci-fi skirmish game.

Playtest rules are free to download, but you gotta do that silly thing where you don't get a file, but it's a product that costs zero pounds. Ye still have to enter a random name and adress, but a valid e-mail, because it seems like you don't get a proper download, just a download link via e-mail.

I really feel at this point that the Grognards and Raumjager kits could do with a proper refresh to bring them up to the standard of WA's newer sets. The proportions and details of these older sets are kinda ropey.

Also intersting to see that the Landsknecht Ogres are not in the Deathfields kits list on that page... I wonder if they'll finally split the kit out a bit into separate fantasy Ogres and sci-fit Ogryn sets? I hope so, but we'll see I guess.

Hmm, shame. That's a skip from me then - I can't be bothered for all that just to get a WIP text document.  :?

It did take a little bit of digging but I believe these rules are being developed by Andy Hobday (Test of Honour, Barons War, Gangs of Rome, etc) so a good track record. And, of course, just because they are WIP doesn't mean a couple of typewritten pages covered in handwritten notes!  lol
I might take a closer look at these; an interesting idea for a skirmish game with scope for hugely flamboyant teams!
I'm just wondering if I have the skills to combine the Mantic Kalyshi Dreadball team with a Rio Carnival plume look! It would be spectacular if I could get it just right!  lol

Another download by Turd Ferguson ;) :D lol
Only the insane have strength enough to prosper. Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.
