So? April fool prank or actual images of a future release?
I think yes and yes.

There is a CIVILIANS & SURVIVORS (2): WOMEN in file prep.

I did notice the Agents on the list, which might be useful as close protection equivalents.

WA April fools jokes have really pissed me off.  I just found out that Napoleons Camp followers was one, after I had spent several fruitless hours looking for iit on their website. More than one other person remains fooled, as I was recently advised by posts on LAF that such was still available as digital files…but I sure couldn’t find it.  I am growing less enamored with WA for this very reason, since a WA rep was in the same thread and could have steered me clear. :'(

Interesting that it looks like a plastic sprue set rather than stl files - just wondering if the 'Soccer Moms' post was a collection of sample female figures from the 'civilians and survivors: women' set, the operators set and, perhaps, the agents set? Looking again at the 'Soccer Moms' picture - they do appear to have 2-3 distinct clothing styles.

Thanks Capn…i must have spent over 4 hours looking for those files on the WA website.  even a search entry produced nothing.  So they do exist, now i just need to find a 3d printer.

Looking at the renders again, you might be correct.

Shattered Union might have started as a combination of seasonal humour and a reaction to the difficulties with international trade, but seems to have gained some Ontological Inertia.

The turnaround on plastic molds in not that quick, especially when you account for the other things in the queue. You don't derail the schedule of multiple customers just so you can release a "joke" kit (let alone three? four?). They had to have planned this for a while now.

I dunno. The bloke that headed up Defiance Games, managed to pull off a joke in similar vein more than once. He even managed to play the same gag on someone else's customer base. You just need a good marketing platform, Kickstarter will do and the magic ingredient of 'vapourware'.  ;)

I should point out that I'm in no way suggesting that WA are planning a similar exercise but I will note they had their own little ponzi scheme asking people to pony up cash to be able to vote on a range of suggested upcoming figures. Apparently that vote had no correlation to the production schedule, so what folk were paying for is totally unclear. They seem to have dropped the pay to play option recently.

The 3 kits that Ultravanillasmurf mentioned are already in the production queue and have been for a while now. It's an amusing little April fool but they lose nothing they don't already have and gain a bit of free publicity out of it (irrational hatred against WA aside, of course).
I am going to ignore the whole thing and wait for those 3-4 plastic sets to come out - oh, and the market stalls/barricade set, they look useful for 'bits' if nothing else!

They were using a cash-for-vote system, yes, but every dollar you spent got you an equivalent to use in their store, so you weren't just putting money into the voting system.

Hard cheese then if what you were voting on/paying for never came to fruition. Presumably, they either had a fit of conscience or the US equivalent of Trading Standards had a word in their collective shell like. That said, I get the impression that singularly few people were daft enough to pay, so that's the likley reason they pulled it.

Right. So it was a little bit like a kickstarter except you paid upfront, got store credit and a range of options to vote for rather than just one choice. I can see the advantages but, once kickstarters became popular, I can see why they took over.

Shattered Union is the name of the "game", the figures are as you say independent of that.

Strangely enough, I was on Amazon today and saw the first book in a series set in a USA split by a 2025 civil war. The series I can't remember but the book was titled "Fractured Union", so perhaps WA are tapping into something there?  lol
