Wargames Atlantic Pulp Civilians and Survivors Coming...
« on: June 29, 2025, 05:13:51 PM »
Yeah, I know.  One would think this should be in the Post-Apocalyptic board.  But for those of us who like armed (and unarmed, for that matter) civilians/guerillas in our "modern" games, this set looks promising.  While it's in their newer Pulp Adventures line, it's definitely geared toward more modern times.

Weapons include both firearms and blunt instruments (although there are a lot of cricket bats...), and the clothing styles are varied.

Not sure when this will appear for purchase, but I, for one, will be waiting for them...

Those are nice, Jim! I may have to pick up a box of those too for random civilians. Good find...

That looks like a very useful set. I have some of the Warlord Games survivors but these seem less limiting. I found the WG survivors awkward to work with (lots of pieces only work with specific bodies), so they’re sitting in a box. These look more flexible.

Oddly, the thing I wish this set had is a couple poses that are standing around and could be used for civilians that aren’t fighting or fleeing and are just going about their business. Bystanders before the shooting starts…  Still, this looks very promising!

So this is another remake of a wargames factory set from the company that is absolutely not at all a rebranded wargames factory?  lol

they certainly look better than the original WGF ones that warlord now produce.

Less useful array of weapons on this lot, at least from my perspective. Still, there's always the pares from the Rubicon boxes to fix that.

Yep. That's what I was thinking, too.

Well, the guy in the Blue shirt in the back will be a nice replacement for the Warhammer Johann that pops up all the time running away scared. The rest, plenty of bits in the bits box to make em work.

These look as if they're potentially very useful indeed!

One of those boxes to be picked up at a show or a FLGS when visiting some city you've never been to ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Very nice looking kit - an equal number of cricket bats and baseball bats there, along with some good weapons. I would suggest hanging on to all of the older survivor sprues for the extra guns, if nothing else.
This is a far more useful and generic kit than the survivors sprue which, let's face it, was geared towards making 'walking dead' style survivors with a couple of variations. This kit could be used for survivors, rioters, general civilians and all sorts in between!
I like this quite a lot.

Yep - I can see me getting 2 ro 3 boxes, to make rioters (maybe mixed with some Offensive Minis chaps), and both armed (with firearms) and unarmed civilians...I have plenty of other firearm choices for them should I so choose, thanks to WA, Warlord, and Rubicon... ;)

Edit:  By the way, I found this on WA's website, as well...

So? April fool prank or actual images of a future release?

And no images, as yet, of the 'modern operators' set they mention?

I have more questions than answers, it seems!  lol

I reckon we'll all find out in due course.  In any event, I'll be watching these for further developments.

All 3 sets (the survivors, the "soccer moms", and the operators) are of some interest to me and my modern(ish) settings...

WA April fools jokes have really pissed me off.  I just found out that Napoleons Camp followers was one, after I had spent several fruitless hours looking for iit on their website. More than one other person remains fooled, as I was recently advised by posts on LAF that such was still available as digital files…but I sure couldn’t find it.  I am growing less enamored with WA for this very reason, since a WA rep was in the same thread and could have steered me clear. :'(

The clue really is in the date - if it get's posted on April 1st, don't believe it until they are actually in your hands!  lol
