Started the first scenario of the Kenshin Ryu Scrolls Campaign.
(Campaign rules attached below)
SCENARIO 1 – AMBUSH
A group of students from the Kenshin Ryu are escorting that school’s teaching scrolls to an adjoining province, where they will be presented to another ryu. A bandit leader has learnt of this, and, wishing to capture the scrolls for ransom, sends some of his men to intercept them.
RESULT: It looked like it was gonna be a route of the Bandits, their teppos couldn’t find their targets in the fading dusk lights. However, once the bandit samurai threw down their shoddy rifles they were able to get a few Koryu kills with their katanas. The end result was never really in question though and the scrolls have been passed along.
Questions from the session for anyone else who’s played Ronin:
1) Initiative - when do the players reveal if they’re Enhancing the Initiative roll? Is it done simultaneously or priority order? Some other way?
2) Withdrawl - if a model moves into base contact with an enemy, then the enemy withdraws, can the model not follow-up? The rules read like following up is their Move action, but what if they already moved? Similar question about attacking… if they opt to attack a withdrawing model in the Move Phase, do they still get an attack in the Combat Phase?
