I picked up the rules in the sale earlier this week. I'm liking them a lot, so I'm pushing my group to join in. Pretty pictures always seem to help, so I've started making a few models for it. Starting off with a Spider.

Wargames Atlantic model, easy to build (not sure why people despair building these tbh. Takes a bit of time but you get pretty good spiders).
Paintjob as described on my Blog https://20mmandthensome.blogspot.com/2025/07/verrotwood-ai-creature-spider.html

Lovely stuff. I love that paint choice - works beautifully. I fully agree - I had read people’s complaints about these models and was apprehensive but then picked them up (cheaply and on a whim) and actually enjoyed building/posing them, it’s a great little kit. One thing I had considered was using my box static grass applicator to make some of them hairy!

I like how it came out and your work on the base is good too. Towering over the shrubbery makes it feel extra big.

Thx guys :)

Made a testbase for my Graveyard, I prefer invidual bases with 2-4 graves. Easier to store and move on the table. 40mm base, GSW graves, various tufts.

Gravestones look good I think smaller bases look great for these , more versatile and easy to store for sure!

Those grave sites look awesome! You could also use them as objective markers, depending on the scenario, at that size. Great thinking, and wonderful execution...  :-*

That is also one of the reasons to keep these compact, yes. Sure, it takes a bit longer to set up, but I'm not in a hurry :)

And this clears the rest of the spiders off of my WIP tray, so now I have 3 big ones and 3 (not so) little ones. Way overkill for the game but baddies (or maybe they are just misunderstood) are always useful.

That's a lot of creepy, crawly legs...

Great work on the paintjobs; not a colour you see on spiders a lot, but it only adds to the creepiness if you ask me.

The gravestones are looking excellent too; love the little details, like the bird droppings, and your basing is, as always, on point!  8)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Thx mate. I'll add another spider to the lot that is a bit different from these and then call it a day spider wise. With this lot of graves  done it's time to add some cultists and ruins I think.

These look great. As always, the vegetation you add really brings them to life. So to speak...  :o  lol
