Still haven't regained my painting mojo after my holiday, but managed two more survivalists, ready to face the elements. Miniatures by Athena Miniatures. Clothing colours inspired by Go Outdoors!

I've begun my 28mm Orc army for Dragon Rampant. I also started a thread on the Fantasy Boards to document it. Here's two from the first batch of eight Warhost "Hobday & Hicks" sculpts. Very characterful stuff!

Check out the rest of the guys over on the Fantasy boards or my Lead Legionaries blog:

Painted up six more 3" circular jungle scatter stands. These went faster than the first bunch, now that I knew how I wanted to do them.

There's a plastic palm tree in the center of each base, and the rest are just plastic plants I picked up at the local craft store. To check out a step by step on how I created them, here's my link on my Lead Legionaries blog:

Nice jungle Mike.  And perhaps some denizens to roam about...

Four more figures painted this month:

Kong and friends for a game I'm building towards in November.  (YTD: 880)

Not showing here, but I've recently progressed a whole bunch of deciduous trees to my collection, mostly individually based on 2" steel discs.  Might add some more autumn colored trees but with that - and the jungle trees I need to assemble, I should have more than enough verdure for pretty much anything I'm likely to put onto the table.  Not counting in figure count but I put 70 of these trees into a recent Robin Hood game as table ready.  Quite a few more to get to that state.

As usual, some stuff that doesn’t fit on one of my current threads.

When I was making Post Apocalypse figures with improvised weapons from Stargrave kits, I found a note by North Star suggesting the use of tools off the dwarf light infantry sprues.  I bought a single sprue from Wargames Emporium but of course there were five bodies and plenty of other arms.  So five random dwarves, including one as a civilian for Guards of Traitor’s Toll.

I spent most of August blogging about my epic road trip to the Arctic Ocean, but I managed to make time for these Inuit hunters and other polar travellers.
