Fantastic Scuffles once more
« on: 05 September 2025, 05:51:33 PM »
So I have part of my gaming table back. Enough at least to do some skirmish games. So what better excuse to paint up a new warband for Fantastic Scuffles and try out the latest version.

Fantastic Scuffles is a fantasy skirmish system from Nic at Irregular Wars. It is currently going through playtesting. I've been puttering with the rules until my ADHD and lack of a table distracted me. You can see some of my previous blog posts about the system on my blog.

This newest warband has been made from a handful of the Skaven miniatures that I picked up for my daughter. She never did get around to painting them so I have liberated a few from her collection. I did a quick paintjob on them and they are ready to get to battle with one of my other warbands.

I have been using my old Warcry models as the basis for warbands (as well as some Relicblade minis) but I suspect that at some point I will be bringing in some of my Oathmark minis to make a few warbands. Or maybe use it as an excuse to pick up some of those delightful Elfking minis?

I am still working on the stats for these models so I will update this once I have a final party and am ready to get them on the table.

Thanks. I find the rats that are on some of the figures to be a bit distracting but they are all nicely posed and look very Skaveny.

Thanks. I actually did 'real' painting on some of the Rat Ogre but you can't see it in this photo.
