Hello everyone!

I am currently building one of these models:
http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/32507_3aust.b/index.htm
However, I'm srarting to think a bit further ahead in regards to some converting or detailing I could do to it.

Extra armour around the turret seems like a good idea... and some stowage/webbing?

Do these sound like good ideas?

I have a couple of platoons of Falshirmjaegers and only a few Wermacht, so I'm not sure who it would "go" with. Nothing saying they couldn't have a rendevous in the middle of Europe though

Any other ideas? I will do some forum trawling and see what emerges...

I personally think that Sturmgeschütz assault guns are among the few German WW2 AFVs which actually look good with stowage. I did a Tamiya B some years back using various bits and pieces to go with it:

I have to say, though, that I´ve never seen a short-barrel StuG with extra armour except spare tracklinks on the hull front.

A pretty kit but disproportionally expensive compared to similar resin kits.

Oh, really? What are the alternatives? Compared to other plastic kits they aren't a bad buy... but then again a U.S. M8 was around $40 last time I looked.

Huh?!? I´ll readily admit that the Tamiya kits took quite a price jump over the last years, but one of the reasons my 28mm armies are equipped with plastics is that they were, depending on the model, the same price or less than resins available at the time. 18-20 Euros for one of those StuGs isn´t too bad, compared to 25-30 for a resin one, depending on manufacturer (most provide smaller models) and exchange rate. Then again, I´m more of a modeller, so I don´t mind the extra work effort required and appreciate the considerably higher level of detail.
