Apple+ series, starring many actors: Jason Mamoa, Temura Morrison, and others.
Overall, an ok watch - I’d give it a 6/10.
It’s visually brilliant; colourful, use of (what I assume is) authentic Hawaiian language and history (post Cook, so just after “contact”).
The downsides? Do you like reading your shows? And then randomly not? By mid-season, it’s like that.
Also, Mamoa could grunt, tear off his feather cloak, and flex literally one less time. Please. I get it: you’re a buff dude.
And, final complaint: the Hawaiians come off as very “primitive”, or “childlike” - it’s badly stereotypical. Big holes in the character.
Nine episodes. Not a big investment. It’s … ok. 6/10.
