Mandalorian Colour Schemes
« on: Today at 10:20:58 AM »
Can’t say I am big into Star Wars. Watched all the films and enjoyed them with Rogue One being my favourite. Also enjoyed Andor although found it a bit slow in places.

Moved on to The Mandalorian which I am enjoying more to the extent that I have bought some Star Wars Legion Mandalorian figures. Not sure what I am going to do with them as I don’t play the SW Legion game. Thought they would be fun to paint but Mandalorian armour colours seem to be quite a thing from the surfing I have done so far. Blue and green seem fairly safe bets. Just wondered if anyone else has painted some and would post some pictures? Or I would welcome anyone else’s comments on how to proceed.

Oh boy!  :o
I am a bit more into the background and lore of Star Wars but even I had no clue about the Mandalorians until a little while ago.
The Mandalorians appear to have a number of family clans (Kryze, Vizla, Saxon, Wren, Fett, etc) all of whom appear to have a set colour scheme (or variations around a common theme) and associated suit patterns. The Mandalorian doesn't belong to any of these, he belongs to a group that grew out of the extremist Deathwatch sect that (currently) has no set uniform colour scheme and members can create their own scheme to suit (heh) themselves.
So whether you decide to create a group of independants or a clan unit kinda depends on how you want to paint them - a fairly similar palette or each a different scheme entirely.

Hope this helps.

Scroll through this thread (can’t remember which page) and you’ll find some Mando’s painted up.

Thanks for the replies.

@Rick - My surfing suggested the colours were related to things like loyalty, vengeance etc. Not getting too anul about it. Just going for what looks good with as much variety as possible.

@OM - Thanks for that link. Wish I had known about Diehard Miniatures before now.

Pp 9 to 19. Lovely figures but Mandalorian conversions not the actual Legion figures themselves - having said that these are some good ideas for colour schemes to use. I thought that I'd seen some of the Legion Mandalorians on here at some point.

The individual colours painted by 'The Children of the Watch' extremist group may well be what you say but these are very much different from the majority of the Mandalorian people or the clans. I just thought you'd appreciate having more information is all.
