Sorry I'm late!

This is beautiful, I love it. :-*

Go with the iron roof, but Svennn's suggestion is good too, make 'em interchangeable.

Done some more work on my colonial house

put some planks on the walkway and done some of the ground work around the house.

Covered the roof in corrugated card board.

Now I just a fence and some posts around the walkway, then on to painting.
Not sure what colours I am going to paint the whole thing yet?

I'm late again, but that looks lovely. I'm sure it will be splendid once finished!

I assume all you've done with the corrugated card is to peel one layer of the covering off?

As an aside, I'd like to do some pantile roofs for Mexican style adobe buildings and was wondering if this method might give a suitable result.

Bear in mind:

 a) I'm useless at any sort of complicated modelling
 b) I'm skint, so tend to mainly use card buildings and
 c) I don't have a great deal of spare time

so anything involving ready-made resin etc, building each tile by hand or using tools more deadly than a Stanley knife is out of the question  :(

They still build stuff in (roughly) that pattern in South Africa; wide verandah, big windows and a metal roof make sense in a hot climate even these days.

They usually seem to be white, with the brick either left bare or painted/plastered white, and coloured trim.

Is the corrugated roof done with crafting paper? Been meaning to get some of that for roofing from one of the scrapbooking stores in town.

No I bought this card from hobbycraft. Quite cheap for the packet of 4 off A4 sheets. They call it Corduroy. It also come in various colours.
It comes looking like this, no peeling involved.
I am not sure it would work as well for tiles as it does have a flat sheet on the back.

Sounds interesting. I don't think the card backing would be too off-putting. The fact that it would be quick and easy to use is a big plus. I'll definitely bear it in mind when I eventually get to do a Hacienda.

Not sure how I would make one of them ??? A bit fiddly and fragile if I did manage.

Not getting much done my garage, where I work, is freezing.
Made the front and back doors

Front

Back
Started work on the roof support posts and fence around the walkway.

and started the painting.
