I thought "oooh, lovely tartan" and then I noticed the socks.  Wonderful brushwork.

What's the world coming to, eh? Englishmen using the term French and Indian War now? I suppose it's only right as we have a MacDonalds and Starbucks in every town nowadays.  :)

Lovely job. Everybody always fixates on tartan, but it is the work on the hose that really catches my eye.

Did you let me touch them before or after you entered them in that competition, on that other forum ???
I thought I recognised them :D
Beautiful figures. :-* :-*
But in particular the socks are the things that had my eyes bulging out. :o :o
How you paint that detail is beyond me :'(

If only I had actually got to play with them properly, instead of having the whole command wiped out by the second turn!

These really are figures of beauty though Richard. I love 'em.

Lovely work. I've painted my fair share of highlanders and the hose is the hardest bit to get right. I finally got wise and bought some of Eureka's laddies in Indian leggings, but you have absolutely nailed these!

I am currently reading "Sons of the Mountains: The Highland Regiments in the French and Indian War, 1756-1767" so I suppose I should add another regiment. What manufacturer sells those beauties?

Thank you Michael  :)

No shame, I suppose, in being beaten by Mr Dallimore (again!!!)
(Although I was looking forward to going up against Bugsda in the final - if only so that I could say that I had actually played games with both the groups of figures involved!)

Aaron, they are actually Front Rank's 'Government Highlanders' from their 1745 Rebellion range... But I think they pass muster for the F&IW  ;)

Thanks Captain. I am a big fan of Front Rank figures and was just looking at their web site on Friday and wondering if I could use those for F&I. Seeing them painted I agree with you that they work well.
