VBCW The Heroes of Powick
« on: 08 January 2010, 04:53:01 PM »
Not exactly Fresh as they fought in Powick in September ;D but Akula prompted me to post my Victorious Forces

This contingent fought to defned Powick Bridge against the Anglican league and are currently acting as an army of occupation in Hertfordshire where they have a tenuous hold in Rothschild Country pursuing the aims of the King and Country

Lead Force: The Tyneside Scottish 1st Battalion, a territorial army unit raised from members and ex members of Pals battalions form the First World War who took the "Scottish" tag as the uniform was more attractive for the Girls :)

The Tynemouth Police, fiercely Loyal to the Cause a detachment was raised as a voluntary independant company

However the Auxillary Tynemouth Police are a darker side that the regular Constabulary would like to forget but need to police and keep down any resistance along the banks of the tyne. Volunteers with a Facist cause who have as a gift the most modern equipment availible

Landing Party from HMS Mashona, a destroyer under outfitting when hostilities broke out, these are the crew that remained loyal to the King and have acted as a force of shock troops for the Expeditionary force and a backbone for the militia.

The North Shields Militia, 3 Battalions raised for King and Counrty a mix of Shipyard Worker, Merchant seamen, Trawlermen and associated trades

First Battalion

Second Battalion

Third Battalion

Finally and usually bringing up the rear the Tynemouth BUF Detachment

Well this is it for me on BCW I managed to paint them all in 2009 and the only project I actually completed 196 figures in total ;D

Thanks for posting them - i'll stop bugging you now!

 :D

Lots of different manufacturers in there, by my reckoning - Musketeer, Brigade, Empress (Anglian), Regiment, Perry's and possibly BEF, Artizan, and even Great War?

Apart from the Musketeer constabulary, are the other police Empress Assaultos? If so, what did you use for headswops?

 :)

Yep you are right on them all bar the Aux are some Artizan (close guess though) I picked up on a B&B.

And again right on the constabulary they are Assaultos with Empress Zulu War Brits heads. A good head pack as you can also use the side caps :D

LT Dog, shocked to see that the brave Geordies and folks from the Tyne have opted to support the King and his fascist minions. What would Sting say?

Very nice job on the figs though.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

Never mind what he would say. He *should* say:

(Aye, LTD himself has taught me how to say "bastard" in Geordie. It is in fact the only proper way to say it. :) )

They really are gorgeous - but then the baddies always have the best uniforms. In order to redress the balance I may have to start collecting interwar minis just so I can (badly) paint up a counter-force of Hebburn and Jarrow shipyardworkers and Durham miners with big red banners with pictures of Lenin on them. Now to find a mini that looks like my grandad in 1938.

I have hurredly invented a battlecry for my North Durham Soviet Militia: "W'a not gannin tu gi'thu Fash tha ern way aal thu teym, comrade man!" (which loosely translated is 'No Paseran!' in Geordie).

Love the imagination you have. Quite the motley crew other than the spit and polish baddies. Tempting to cross the pond and beg a game  lol

That will look good in whitewash on a boiler plated bus.
