Perry civil war heads query
« on: 09 January 2010, 12:26:26 AM »
Do any of the wise men of the forum know if the perry bro's Black Union heads wearing forage caps would fit Foundry or Artizan plains cavalry to ceate mounted Buffalo soldiers? Also, no matter how hard I try I can't seem to take a decent photo of any miniatures, help.....please.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I would certianly be intereted when someone provides an answer. The need for a unit of buffalo soldiers is galloping to the top of my priorities list  ;)

I reckon the Perrys bodies would be a bit small, thats my best guess, thogh the old Prry/Foundry range should work?

I have them, and they are rather on the small side, but bit larger than the plastic heads.

I will use them for Void Viridians who are rather pin-headed
my guess would be that they should be in the average range for any historical miniatures, and even for chunkier bodies they would simply change the proportions to "true scale", whereas making 25 mm figures more "fantasy style"

I was wondering if anyone yet has used them for what they were meant, replacing plastic heads??

For your VSF army? That would be brilliant!

Couldn't you buy a pack of Redoubt black ACW heads and put them on Artizan 7th Cavalry bodies? I reckon they would match up very well  :)

Now I've probably set myself up to look foolish (again  ::) ), as I've just looked on their site and can't find any mention of black heads. I'm certain I've seen some in the past though, as a few yeras ago I was going to buy some to do the 54th Massachusetts Regiment featured in "Glory"  >:(

I hope they haven't been discontinued ....
