Oiled Horses or ...errr...Frogs?
« on: January 10, 2010, 03:22:11 PM »
Decided to try out painting horses with oil paints(Topic:-  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=13306.0).
I knew i had some old oils laying around somewhere.Unfortunatly only found blue and yellow.Decided against blue or green horses, but had some of those lovely Eureka Miniatures Frog warriors(gathering dust for about a year or two).
If the technique works on horses,it will probaly work on frogs.I mean they are both animals and ..err.. small.. errrrr.
....live in swamps...green..whatever.
Here they are-

Not including the time it takes for the paint to dry, this is a very fast way of painting miniatures.Being nearly all one colour,i was going to paint them by "blending".The result would have been a little better but it would have took me probaly 10 times as long.Give it a try.

They look great. The only thing I might change would be to make them a little glossy. Nicely done.

Oh, those look great.  Wonderful painting.  I've looked at those Eureka frogs a couple of times thinking they'd be fun to paint.  You've definitely convinced me now!

those look absolutely great. Oils are so nice to work with.
If pro is the opposite of con, what is the opposite of progress ?
