Flash Gordon Air Skiff
« on: January 11, 2010, 03:02:30 AM »
This is my first entirely scratch-built model.  I wanted a Flash Gordon type air skiff for some gaming I had planned.  This one is made from wood and plastic card.  I added the cheesy graphics to get the retro-comic strip feel.  Tell me what you think.

I think it's fantastic! Any work in progress pics?

I think I still have them.  I'll try to dig them up.

Very suitably Flash Gordon.  Where's the retro raygun from?

Very Flashy :)  I think the ray gun is a gothic type lamp from a GW building.
Barbarella: What's that screaming? A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming...

Very nice work!  :-*

Who makes that pilot figure you have riding on the skiff?

The raygun is indeed a GW building part.  I had several left over from my Imperial City.  @D Phips:  The figs are both Heroclix repaints.  The male is Lobster Johnson from the Indy set.  The girl is Abby Chase, also from the Indy set. They make good generic pulp adventurers.  You can find commons of both for about $1 on Fleabay.

That is really great. Deffinately Flashy enough. Could almost work for a Martian skiff.
