Thanks! Funny you should mention Silurians--just finished painting mine, so I should have pics later this week.  Would love to see your interpretation--get painting!  :D

If I start now you might see them this time next year  lol

actually made worse by the mini, no fish tail and that weird armoured plate on the arse...

Pantosaurus  lol According to the Tardis Wiki, the author of the story was not to happy about the monster, as he envisioned the story as being closer in spirit to Alien. The Beeb saw it differently obviously.

Love seeing the mini's painted in this thread, but convinced that finding proxies is the more sane route!

Pantosaurus!  lol Yes--proxies are the more sane route. Though I did spend a lot of time tracking down proxies that required only minor tweaks for the family of blood only to turn around and get the ready made proxy set that recently came out.  Fortunately/unfortunately more and more of my custom projects now have rather good proxies being produced.

Today's update - Silurians!

The body sculpts for the '70s Silurians were rather plain, so to add a little more detail, i went with a mottled skin tone using gloss colors to give a slimy reptilian/amphibian look.  Also to break up the unit a bit, I went with slightly different color schemes for each figure--some had more green, orange, or yellow hues mixed in with the base brown.  The basing is a little plain on these, just cave/quarry gravel--may add some larger stones or some stalagmites if I get ambitious.

Yet(i) some more pictures.  Today's selection is my yeti army.  It is made up of Harlequin and Alector miniatures. The Alector miniatures are a little taller and come cast with a base--had I removed it, the difference wouldn't have been as pronounced.  But being monsters that are supposed to be big I wasn't too bothered by the difference.  I sort of like having the littlest one as the leader of the pack--a yeti with a Napoleon complex?

Today I have a pair of Pyroviles based on the Heresy Miniatures Colossus.  Some new who stuff!  I like the bases--they are cast resin from Dragon Forge.  I've bought resin bases from a few different makers, but these were the cleanest casts and used the highest quality resin of those I've tried.  Definitely recommended.

The Pyroviles were fun to paint but I should have worked more on the positioning of the limbs.  I customized one slightly by adding a few additional protruding rocks on the shoulders and arms.

Have finished up a bunch of figures since my last post, will have more pictures to post soon.

Today's offering is Azal and Bok from the 3rd doctor story the Daemons.  I think we are due a good occult story in the new series show. There have been a few stories that flirted with the themes, but I would love to see 11 square off with a Lovecraftian cult.  I bet Torchwood could have had a fun romp with that theme.

Pretty much just a straight forward paint job for these. I used another one of the Dragon Forge resin bases for Azal.

Azal's pose reminded me of the hip shot you'd always see in mid-century westerns.  I was tempted to add two holstered six-shooters...

Lastly, another pic of Bok just because I like him.

"Chap with the wings there – five rounds rapid!"  :D

Some of the Gripping Beast/Woodbine morris dancers would flesh out The Daemons nicely.

Cracking stuff.  :)
