That is a find!  Most of their wood structures are just too big (even if doors and such look alright, the wood is too thick) but that tower would work GREAT!   I hope they have 'em at Florida Michales!

Those are in the cheap-stuff aisle - right?

I don't know.  But if it helps, I think this was identified as a birdhouse.

It is a birdhouse. Took a little searching for me to find one (didn't end up buying because the lines for their President's Day sale were outrageous). But it is priced at $7.99

Like all the birdhouse stuff, the walkways are too small for based miniatures. But the doorways are fine. As a static piece with a sniper or single figure on each level, I think it will be great.

What would the walls of a large Chinese or Japanese building like that be made of in real life?  Some sort of wood, or something like stucco or stone?   I'll have to look for pics online.
It seems like it would make a great "skeleton" for a building, just need to add details over what's there.

Mancha, I want to thank you for the heads up!

Canadian Michael's shoppers, the Pagodas are currently on sale for $6.99! I'm not sure why they were priced at $13.99 in the first place when they are $7.99 in the states, but the sale makes for a good bargain. In addition there was a decent looking windmill for the same price.

I picked one up when they first came out. It will take a little rebuilding to make the upper level usable as the walk-way is too narrow to place figures.

It would be great to take off the walkway walls, and then rebuild them sing Odd Ducks' excellent idea of using Chinese fans.  See this thread:
