Both nice entries.  I particularly like the backdrop in the first one: it sets the scene perfectly.

There is a subtlety on the flesh tones in the second entry that I like too.

I went for the Space Pirates but if I was more a historical dork rather a sci-fi dork then I would probably have gone for the first entry.

Cheetor,

thanks for your comments. As I did not have any Conan miniatures on my pile, I took the most barbarious I have. The Kaminski troops were, together with Dirlewanger, the worst of the troops set in against the Warzaw uprising in the summer of 1944. Real badasses... raping, murdering and pillaging.

I like both in different ways, but on balance the Space Pirates edge it for me.

Who's side was the Kaminski Brigade on? Either way they could be fooling one side or the other.

Both entries are great, but being a Mad Max junky I am sure you know which  one I voted for.

Kaminski was on the Dark side....
