Question re: Size of West Wind Figures
« on: 01 March 2010, 05:43:19 PM »
Anyone know if this series of West Wind minis are the same 28mm size as the Artizans?

http://www.warweb.com/berlin-bust-28mm-german-c-70_180_414_1295.html

I ask because the vehicles I bought were too small, very out of scale.  I've also heard that some of their 28mm figures are more like 25mm or a little smaller.

Just figured I'd check with people who may have actually used them.

Thanks.

most of the range is too small (and badly sculpted) some of the latter additions fit in fine with 28mm fine.
You can usually tell the latter additions by the way the photo looks- if it's a white background it's newer.
Commission Painting undertaken, PM or email me.

There's a German Adventurers or Veterans pack, I forget what it is called exactly.

Is that an old or new one?

Veteran campaigner? That would be an old set (smaller than Artizan’s 28mm)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

I don't have any myself but I have heard that Westwinds seperate head system figures are much larger than the old Berlin or Bust range.Unfortunatly they aren't available from Old Glory so no army discount.

The SHS and newer Berlin or Bust lines are a solid 28mm and mix well with Artizan, BAM/Warlord and other figure lines. Their older range is a smaller 25mm and the vehicles are much too small, they haven't updated very many of them. They have some neat stuff, 28mm French Civilians. Volksturm, etc. that are fairly unique.

Having just completed a load of their US infantry figures, sizewise they are compatible with Artizan, but qualitywise there are many better figures out there.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

The "Separate Head System" miniatures make it really easy to customize, btw. That's how I'm doing a squad of Handschar SS -- heads from BAM/Warlord, bodies from Westwind's SHS line.
