Camera bleached the detail out on the whites a little. Need to work on that, but can't be bothered right now.  :)

This and the "Out of Africa" are really wonderful and inspirational projects.

I would like to do something close to them... if I had the talent.  :'(

Very nice.  I really must find some kind of scourge to force myself into doing some of my own figures from this period.

For those interested in obtaining the Buel book mentioned several posts back, it's available for free download from Google.  It includes all the illustrations, including, I was surprised to see, several in colour.  Be warned, though, it's a 333MB file! (Around 600 pages!) Great inspiration, though.

I just finished painting that set at the weekend , I think I will smash it now I've seen how it should be done. :-* lovely job.

Really excellent paint job.
I am currently trying to get the skintone of my Sudan arab slavers right.
Up to now it looks like I have got a really mixed gang with members from
very different parts of Africa.
