Where do all these horsemen come from who are looking sideways, as if for their portrait?  It's kind of weird how common they seem to be.  I would think that if I were on a horse, I'd be looking straight ahead.   :)

I'm sorry to say that is looks like the witches got a little too much dull coat. Which is really too bad. They're an interesting collection for miniatures.

'Dull coat' is, specifically, the name of Testor's spray-on matte lacquer. It is however generally used as a colloquial for any varnish or lacquer , brush-on or spray, used to protect and take the sheen off a painted miniature.

Due to its composition most dull coats has the nasty side effect of leaving whitish streaks or residue on a miniature if applied too thick or in too many layers.

It kinda looks like that's what's going on with your minis.

That aside, I like them. Who makes them, especially the Baba Yaga?

Ok thank you for you help ... anyway the problem is me and my bad painting! And I do not have any chance against my opponents  :)
They are better than me and I am giving them my vote!

you can find the Baba Yaga miniature in the Steve jackson Games set Hellboy Villains Miniatures
it is out of print at http://www.sjgames.com/miniatures/hellboy/villains/
but you can find Hellboy Villains Miniatures in google or ebay

Witches are  "Irregular P29  Gypsy dancing girl" .. they cost 75p each and, IMHO, very nice and usefull http://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/25mmRanges/25mmPersonality.htm

Arms are from mantic plsatic Undead Ghoul
Little Carolina is from  FU!UK 20009 Pro-Am Sculpting Competition  http://www.frothersunite.com/shop/09sculptwinners.html

I do not remember who makes the three

Aww, you're being hard on yourself. :) Captain Blood is a tough match for anyone. Plus he is in a position to rig the competition. But I am sure he wouldn't. Positive. He has standards, he's got to. Cheating is wrong, I am sure he knows it.

...

You wouldn't rig the competition, would you Richard?   :P  :)

Now, I am not a good painter and I know ... I have too many unpainted miniature at home and I am using this competion to paint some miniature I have ... I think is a nice idea to think about a scenary and to paint miniature for it ... I am not a good painter but I hope somebody can support my ideas!

Of course I would, but I'm not running this one  ;)

pierrebi - it's great that you take part. It's good that you are self-critical too, because then you can improve. I always say it, but I truly believe that the more you paint, the better you get at it. Besides, as you say, taking part motivates you to press on and finish more figures, so it's a good thing, win or lose.

Sorry to return to this discussion so late. I see that Hammers has given you the correct answer. I have used the Testers brand and we I first began painting I had the same unfortunate accident. I like your scene you've put a lot of in it. I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone when I say keep it up we want to see more of your work.

Rob
