Very inspired, whatever made you want to do these? Great stuff though, regardless of how twisted you may be.

Well. It's for my participation game for Horisont II (Danish convention in November).

The players take on the role of Viking chieftain Taoregorn The Red Eyed travelling through the tides of reality in their longship Skithögen.

Before the game starts the viking players rolls off to see where they've landed.

One of these locations is Lindisfarne, where a priest, his alter boy, a shepherd and some sheep are all that stands between the vikings and the church gold and the church virgins.

I'm thinking that the shepherd will be sort of a fighter, as will his dog. The priest will be a spellcaster able to raise demon sheep from the bloody pulp markers (that you place when a viking kills a sheep).

Hope it makes sense to you.  ;)

Ahhhh! That makes sense now.

I thought it was just you working on stuff with no concept behind it (although, that is a concept in itself)! Nothing wrong with that, of course, but you're scenario idea sounds really good!  :)

I've started painting up my Romans for this project.

"As everyone knows the Romans and the Vikings were fierce enemies. They had many similarities like their mutual love of war and hate of the Jesus people. The differences were greater though.

For examples the Vikings used axes and iron stuff, while the Romans preferred bronze (they didn't have the superior Viking technology) and big unwieldy shields.

The Roman ships (called Tiremes) were a bit like Viking long ships, but inferior. That's why the Vikings won all the sea battles that the Romans and the Vikings fought constantly.

They've both been treated bad by historians. For instance a lot of historians claim that the Vikings weren't alive before 790 c.e. And that the Romans were never involved with the occult. That's why history was banned as a subject during the Roman Empire.

Their common enemies sometimes led the Viking and Roman armies to form alliances to war on people who were badmouthing them. For instance the Jesus people. And historians.

But as both races enjoyed fighting they would often meet up and fight at predetermined locations just for the sport. This is how football was invented."

With a little over a month today I'm seriously screwed for getting all this stuff painted, let alone tested.

The current list of encounters is thus:

Owlbears
Romans
Ninja
Lilliputs
Priest & Sheep

I know this thread is not about dark age, but I think some of the manufacturers mentioned might have something for you:

The romans are done.. next I gotta do their tents. How many Romans to a tent?  lol

Vicious fight ensues! Vikings plunge into the Romans who try their best to defend themselves

Suddenly a terrifying Owlbear enters from the mushroom forest and slays and maims!

A flock of sheep and demon sheep runs amuck on the battlefield and causes even more mayhem

Although the tent would probably only have space for 6 - 2 of the legionaires would be at guard duty at all times during the night... Don't try sneaking up on a camping legion!  ;)
