Mostly on the modern adventure/horror theme this month.

Those two ghouls to the right of the killer rabbit use the free Mantic ghoul sprue bodies, with two of the heads.  The gauntlet on the mad nun above also came from that sprue.  But there were plenty of bits left, so I dug out some old Wargames Illustrated plastic freebies to see what I could do with them.

You can't see it from that photo, but the ECW ghoul has a bag of body parts on his back.  And I've still got two pairs of ghoul legs left!

Finally, a couple of random figures painted for fun.

Nice selection and if you don't mind me asking who makes the armed nun in the first picture?

Thanks

Thanks, Pete.  She's one of the Foundry mail-order freebies from a few years ago.

Thanks for the info and I did wonder if she was Foundry, but unfortunately she does not seem to be amongst the "Specials" that are now more readily available, for a price.

The last two episodes of Doctor Who had got me thinking about a sci-fi militant order of some sort, more sensibly attired than GW's offerings, and she, and a few more like her, would have been perfect...

The "I am your soldier" Darlek searving tea is way too much fun! Great job.

Just thinking, why would it have all those packs on it and a water container?

You'd have to ask the BBC producers.  My guess is that the answer is "because it looks good".  I'm not sure what the silver, cocktail-shaker shaped thing is, but that was there on the TV too.  Lovely bit of modelling and painting there by Aircav.

We think of the Daleks as sentient (and evil); in the show they were clever vehicles. They were presumably carrying kit for their 'handlers'.

This is a total post-facto rationalisation. But I agree that it doesn't make much sense for Daleks that behave like Daleks to have them. Then again, Daleks that behave like Daleks have no use for tea-trays either. They have much more efficient ways of killing people.

Love the Dalek, by the way Aircav. Lovely conversion and great painting as always.

For the dry martini of course, shaken not stirred.  Who says Darleks don't have style-evil yes-but style all the same.
