Martian cavalry
« on: 09 April 2010, 01:51:12 PM »
Here are the latest offerings from the Ironclad stables some Martian cavalry.
I need a name for the beasts any suggestions. I was thinking of Thamels but as you know with this forum there is always someone with a better idea.

If you don't succeed at first use a bigger hammer!

They look great.

Call them hoof cameliod, even though that name is not better than yours  lol

Those are brilliant. Now I'm gonna have to get saving for a whole bunch of stuff.

I think Thamels sounds great, the only other thing I could think of was Droats (as in Dromedary/Thoat). Yours is better.

Nice figures… as far as I can tell because the picture is a little too small… or is it the angle? Anyhow, the mount look like a mix of camel and elephant lol

Ooooh! Nice stuff John.

Will you be selling the beasties (I thought of some names but they all belong in the gutter I'm afraid  ;)) separately? I'm thinking that any invading forces to the martian planet may want to adopt these mounts for their own cavalry.
Don't!

Yes I will do some separately, I am currently planning cavalry for the British and Prussians so I probably will have to do martian mounts for them, and so the list grows.

camel

O.E. camel, perhaps via O.N.Fr. camel (O.Fr. chamel, Mod.Fr. chameau), from L. camelus, from Gk. kamelos, from Heb. or Phoen. gamal, perhaps related to Arabic jamala "to bear." Another O.E. word for the beast was olfend, apparently were based on confusion of camels with elephants in a place and time when both were known only from travelers' vague descriptions.

My emphasis/suggestions
