The Heist --
« on: April 12, 2010, 02:37:23 PM »

One of our playtesters sent us these pics, and I definately think they are worth sharing. Be sure to check out the cool paper buildings he put together --

Below: This is the start of the scenario. The Ranchero on the right will soon be leaving for a special delivery...

Below: Friends and foes have taken up positions high on the rooftops...

and down in dim alleys...

Then all hell breaks loose...

Below: Barely escaping the carnage, the Ranchero is coming up on a tight turn. But wait, two crashed cars partially block the road...

Below: It's a trap! He'll never make it...

Whoo hoo!   :D :D

I have a bit of a thing against paper terrain that I'm trying to get over and that helps a lot.  Those look great!  Are some of the blocks on foam core?   I would really add to the board seperating the sidewalks from the street with some curbs.  What rules are being used there?

Those buildings come from --   http://www.clevermodels.net/o-scale/

I'm not normally a fan of paper buildings, but I think these look good. Also, these are the types of buildings that would take me way too long to build and paint. So I'm seriously considering using something like this for my more gangland style games.

I've never heard of Clever Models before.
Did you get the preprinted kits or a disk and print yourself?

Very nice cars too. Any links to the manufacturer?

http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/catalogscale.asp?Scale=43&Type=A&SubType=&Brand=&Mv=Next&pageNo=26

also do an ebay search for "Universal Hobby 1/43 james bond" nice stuff

As for the buildings get the CD Brick and Mortar Industrial Bldgs you get about 6-7 buildings plus a bunch of textures, also you can take the pdfs into photoshop and add all kinds of things, print them up on adhesive paper and then to foam board. Put as much effort in as you want, you can always add later

This is part of the playtesting for our Pulp Alley game. We have a yahoo group set up for playtesters but no other website at this time.

Thanks,
Dave

Hay, I'm new to this forum and what a blast to see what you've done with our kits. I originally started Clever models as a game supply site but the train guys jumped in and took over. I will have game specific sets available and I often post freebies so feel free to check the web page and blog.
