15mm Tarzan? Opar?
« on: 13 April 2010, 09:03:57 AM »
Hello everyone!

A) What 15mm figures would you suggest for the following:

1) Tarzan
2) Jane Porter
3) La of Opar
4) Waziri Tribesmen
5) Oparian Males

B) Also, has anyone done a multi-level ruined city table that might inspire a similar attempt in a City of Opar project?  Any pics?

Thanks.

Dan

Welcome, CC, I recognice you from TMP.

All I know is that Airfix used to make a 20mm (1/72 scale) set of Tarzan figs, native Africans and animals.

Hi CC,

in addition to Hammers comments re Airfix, I think HAT re-released that box set early in their production runs - I'm not sure if it's still in production though.

For 15mm I'd suggest having a look at Irregular Miniatures colonial range, they're quite "chunky" figures but paint up nicely. Irregular also make a good range of wild animals in 15mm.

For Tarzan, how about one for the figures from the Imperial Martian Character Pack from Black Hat?

The guy left of centre - officially he is 18mm but he fits in size-wise with most 15mm figures.
I don't know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

Thanks!

I guess there are a couple of figures I could use from that pack:

Ok.  So that takes care of a Tarzan and La.  That still leaves Jane and the others on the list.

I didn't like the Airfix Tazan box.  The figures were less a flexible plastic, and more like a semi stiff rubber.  The scale was pretty wonky too, Tarzan was bigger than most 1:72 figures, while the two explorers / poachers were tiny.
