Cheers Jet. Great pics mate!!

Having played Battletech since '85, I love the concept of the game and the universe that has been built up around it. Thus, I was chuffed to find a rules set that could still maintain the feel of the battletech game while being both simple and fluid enough to handle the larger games that are, IMO, beyond the capabilities of the Btech rules to handle (I've always found that anything beyond 5-6 models per side just takes FAR too long to play out). While the size of game depicted here could have been played with the Btech rules in a reasonable amount of time, using FWC we got through two games in 2 1/2 hours while constantly looking things up in the rulebook! 'Nuff said.
The mod we used was found on the FWC forums here:
http://www.blitzkrieg-commander.com/Content/Forum/Topic.aspx?CategoryID=13&ForumID=50&TopicID=8304&ForumPage=1This list covers the basic 3025 list of 'Mechs. There is a more extensive one further on which includes a number of the varients of many of the basic designs. His goal is to go on through the war of '39 and on to the Clan invasion, FedCom civil war and the current Jihad. I am eagerly awaiting this last as the game material published for it to date has been fantastic (and I have a Word of Blake force in the cabinet). The mechs are quite a bit more powerful than the standard armour and infantry units given in the army lists in the rulebook but, this isn't really a problem and is true to the feel of the Btech rules.
Note: Heat and Ammunition have been done away with for the sake of simplicity. I fully agree with the author having done this as it speeds up gameplay considerably and I have never actually like the heat rules as they seem a bit far fetched IMO (in the 31st century we have the capacity for interstellar travel but can't build a decent heat exchanger???).
Since we played last I've expanded my Taurian force (which JET was using) with some armour and a gunship while the FedSuns force is getting some infantry support. Hopefully there'll be more Btech action in our future alongside our own 15mm projects!
