40mm Fantasy??
« on: 06 May 2010, 03:43:19 PM »
Hey guys.
I have been really into the Spartan Games Skeletons and Greek 40mm stuff. I have been looking around for more 40mm fantasy stuff and can not seem to find much else in 40mm that does not have a musket.
Sash & Saber has some Dark Ages stuff
Flashing Blade has some skeletons (quality???)
West Wind has some greenskins in theire Dwarf Wars line but not sure scale wise how they measure up.
Reapers Pathfinder line has a Hook Mountain Ogre which works out good for 40mm.

Any body else have any ideas or tips or know any companys doing 40mm Fantasy.
Maybe I should start one?

Maybe if I get crazy I will post some pics.

Graven Images also do some fantasy stuff in 40mm (England invaded, Unholy roman empire, Field of reeds, emissary of the gods, prehistoric europe)

There are a whole load of fantasy creatures and monsters that although produced for 28mm, can easily be used for 40mm.  I have a whole section on my Blog that details how I have trawled through on-line catalogues and e-bay to find suitably scaled monsters for my 40mm Flash Gordon collection.

The basis if which was the Graven Images 40mm Cliffhanger range, but now includes figures from dozens of manufacturers.

More details are available from my Blog, check out the Flash Gordon label at;

And good luck.

Cool thanks.
The Mindstalker stuff is terrible. It is very artsy and does not match the rest of the industries style for wargaming.

I will have to respectively disagree with you here. The Mindstalkers miniatures are some of the finest models I've ever seen.

I think what he meant to say is the sculpting style (and figure proportions) is very different from most other ranges.

Maybe your right about matching with other brands, White Knight, I never compared them with others... :)

But I have some of the Mindstalker minis and have to say the same as Gibby, they are one of the best 40mm Modells I ever seen

What he means is that they are too fine. Most companies do quite chunky miniatures and it's better to bat for the bigger team really.

Sorry, irregular don't do fantasy 40mm, they do retro sci fi though.
