Can you give an overview of the rules? Just the basics like game scale (whole battles, skirmishes, etc) and roughly how large an area is needed to play the typical battle? Also will these work for Marlborough and friends? I've always been tempted by the period and uniforms.

The rules are written for 28mm. They are primarily designed for skimrish gaming but can also be used for smaller battles.

The rules is mainly addressed to the armies that participated in the Great Northern War.
Sweden and its colonies on one side and Russia, Denmark-Norway, and Poland-Saxony on the other.

There shouldn´t be any problem if you would like to use the rules for other armies of the Malborough era.

Yes! Marc Grieves is a talented swedish artist specializing in marine art and his painting of the ship Gothenburg became a swedish stamp in 2003. He has painted many motifs of the Great Northern War, and he has great knowledge of uniforms, weapons, and battle tactics that was used during this conflict and that was what prompted me to contact him. When we talked over the phone he told me that he played a lot of historical wargaming during the 80's. He´s also one of the founders of the the old wargaming club YLVA.

I agree re not showing too much before publication, part of the joy of getting the rules will be that first browse through, with previously unseen illustrations.

The club I joined at the age 15... We used to have the Diorama of dioramas (at least on the west coast)
Mark helped to paint and build it (its based on Kelly's Heroes. The builders went to Yugoslavia and took pictures of the village, which hadn't changed at all for 20 years).


It suitable for 15mm minis And this model is about 24 years old...
