These are bound to give "plus points" to your rules.  8)

Unfortunately,  I have to wait quite a while on the first painting. The cover art. But looking at the paintings posted earlier in this thread, I understand that they´re not painted in a snap.

It suitable for 15mm minis :) And this model is about 24 years old...

Wow. That´s an impressive diorama.  ;D

I agree with Galloping Major, it is a nice style indeed. It has a retro feel while not looking dated.

Based on the samples shown in the thread intro, the finished cover art will be impressive. Are you going to do a wrap-around cover, or have the artwork 'framed' on the books front?

Front only. An image that covered both front and back would certainly look better. But I'm afraid it would look to history book:ish.
I thought I would have some miniatures on the backcover. It is, after all, a skirmish rulebook for 28mm.  :)

I look forward to seeing the finished product. I can see your point about the history book aesthetic, although it could work for you considering the time period.

The art is great though, and who doesn't like minis on a cover!?!? ;)

Yes. I´m very excited. Bill will also release some Russian Dragoons and Russian Horse Grenadiers! It´s almost like Christmas in April!  :)
