Glum looking Kapitän, but a rather jolly looking torpedo, don't you agree?

Did you notice how he and the torpedo are colour co-ordinated?  ;)

First day, the little cottage in the woods...

Hänsel und Gretel didn't show up. So bollocks to them, let's play Grimm's 45. Adventures Innsmouth game.

Didn't take much in the way of photos of gaming, was too busy having fun (D6: 1-4) or coughing my guts up (5-6).

Second day...

Brits gaming under the strict supervision of a responsible German adult.

Grimm's very entertaining Chinese Warlord T&T game...

Wings of War: "Tricky Luigi" the famous Italian ace (seated, right) confounds both the Entente and Central Powers with a skilled display of precision side-changing and synchronised surrendering. (Apologies to our Italian friends - only stereotypes were allowed at this table  :))

The skill is "improved surrender".  :D
That's what you get when you are really drunk and try to read through the good old D&D 3.5. rulebook. Anyway, I found this skill to be the most useless one...

Of course! I forgot "Improved Surrender!" (put it down to the beer).  Every game should have this skill.

Sunday was a day filled with more than a little anxiety for the Brits, as reports came in of the deteriorating situation at the British airports. But thankfully our hosts did a grand job taking our minds off it with a U-Boot trip.

Tellus and Grimm swap Rock n' Roll Wrestling moves, while Karsten scans the skies for signs of the ash cloud...

Plynkes falls victim to a German practical joke.

Loading Captain Blood's Currywurst aboard for the journey.

U-Boot bunks.

The Laboe Naval Memorial.

Björn acting the goat.

Björn acting the goat again. The speech bubbles aren't too far from the truth. That is actually what he was doing at this point.

Looking southwest (ish?) from the top of the memorial towards Kiel.

And in the other direction out into the Baltic.

About all I got to see of Hamburg.

In the exciting climax of the movie, the British LAFers scrape through into Gatwick in the nick of time, just ahead of the ash cloud...

(Artist's impression)

Thanks to all those who put in the hard work to organise this smashing weekend, putting on games, sorting out venues and food and drink, driving us Brits around like we were lord and lady muck, putting folks up in their houses, and anything else I've forgotten. Thanks also to everybody, German, Swede, Dane* (and Anglo-Dane) and Brit, for the priceless gift of a long weekend's worth of fellowship. That's something you can't buy online or in a gaming store.

*Except Thorbjørn, of course.  ;)

Would have loved to come up and taking part in this seemingly priceless adventure. The more as you guys obviously had fun and sunshine as well. Much better than being imprisoned at university in rainy Paderborn. :'(
Great stuff everyone, thanks for sharing the photos.

Here you can see Matakishi testing his new mental powers (he had aquired after eating a radioactive Currywurst) on Malamute ...

...and Plynkes

But I'm not sure what use it would be to let all the folks mimic Dr. Evil lol
