ancient, fantasy, medieval palisade

According by you, in scale 1 / 60 (rounded) adapted to 28 mm miniatures, which should be the diameter of the poles of a defensive palisade, like that which formed the walls of the forts of medieval times?
For example, a type of fence on this one:

Many thanks,

I don't think there was a standard pole size as trees come in all shapes and sizes, although saying that I might imagine there would possibly a generic size you could use.

3mm would be a good start, which is the size of bamboo skewers, but you could also mix in other sizes aswell to make it look more random (I've seen whole forts use the same size stick and although I appreciate the effort it just doesn't look right)

You could also use real twigs, Slient Invaders FIW thread is a cracking example of this http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=16100.0

When painting, try and mix the colours up a bit and not paint them uniform brown  :)

I think James is right, about 3 mm should be good. Looking at the posts in your picture, I'm guessing that they're about 15cm or 6 inches to us Imperialist English types. I would say that's about 2-3mm on the table top.
