World of Warcraft minis at Homebargains
« on: May 28, 2010, 02:56:20 PM »
£1.99 for a box of 3 pre painted mini's, they seem a little big, well ok, very big, but some of the creatures would be good for D&D etc.

I was just about to make this thread!

I picked up a couple of boxes today. Some of the minis are a bit dodgy but these two are particularly cool:

Two headed ninja Ogre. 'Nuff said.

This one, however, has taken "pride" of place as the stupidest miniature I own:

I've not got a Homebargains anywhere near me, I don't suppose anyone could pick me up a couple of these?

Bugger, I'll have to have a look. Bet they won't sell them in Cov.

Made my last swoop today before I get addicted (I have a bit of a problem with blind-boxed stuff) and I'm pleased to say that I've only got one doubler out of 15 minis. With the demonic/monstrous nature of most of the ones I've picked up I've got a ready made chaos warband ready to prime and repaint. Here's some of what I got:

This guy's skull face looks better in the "flesh". Might mask his wings and leave them as-is.

Big imposing fella but a crossbow is a poor weapon choice for him, and I'm starting to see a trend towards WoW missile weapons looking pretty stupid. Weaponswap time!

Dilemma. The paint job on him is sloppy as hell but the details on his feathers are pretty poor. I'm thinking about priming him white then just using washes on the feathers.

I have two of this big guy. He has a big spike growing out of his back and a massive axe.

This water elemental is cast in see-through plastic, and I think I'm just going to tidy up a bit of the paintwork and fix the metallics.

Sadly the details on this miniature are pretty shallow, haven't decided a plan of action for this one yet.

Just looks like most of them need a few weapon swaps and some greenstuffing tbh. Seems like a cool project.

I REALLY hope Cov has some. So far, I have been unlucky in HB as far as ANYTHING anyone has suggested has gone!  :(

Yes! The one here didn't have any!

Now I don't have to buy them just cos they're there, stick the ugly things in a box for the rest of my life and occasionally look ruefully at them.

Result.  8)

Nah, quite alright. I would probably end up shoving them in a cupboard anyway.

Besides, with very little money left before pay day, I better not!
