This week's painting projects have had a reality-breaching theme to them.  We've got some representatives of the Cult of Purple Shadow in mid-ritual:

The heavily-converted Bathalian Primarch crawling through the planar gate there is the result of a rare Reaper mispack which left me with an incomplete figure.  They replaced it promptly, but I figured this was a good way to get some use out the parts I did have.

Of course all that summoning magic (or psyker activity, for those who prefer a more science-fiction-ish explanation) is likely to attract unwanted attention in the form of a hunting triad of the dreaded dimensional leeches, seen here striking from their self-generated gates to the Other Side:

Biggish models on 45mm bases, definitely not the kind of thing you want to see lunging at you without warning from an alternate plane of existence.

Worse yet, too much extraplanar transit can lead to uncontrolled breaches in the fabric of reality.  Some of them are perfectly harmless as long as you stay away from them (although the things that may emerge from them may be dangerous), while others are more...active about reaching out to bypassers.

Lovely work!

Who makes those Leech thingies please?

Lovely work!

Thanks!

They're a fairly unpronounceable Reaper Bones figure from their licensed Numenera range.  I've converted them (mostly by trimming off the one attached arm and leaving off the others, which got recycled in the "grabby" warp portals) but this is the base figure:

Indeed. Un-controlled breaches in the fabric of reality ..... absolutely love this. Is this where a Brexit might lead to?-)

It's okay, Trump will just order Mexico to build a wall across any cross-dimensional rifts that crop up due to the plunging value of the pound.   :?

Indeed. But there are rumours on the streets that Trump itself is an malignant alien lifeform. ;-)

Fantastic! Those leech-beasts look a thousand percent better with the extra arms trimmed off. All very nicely done.

FANTASTIC idea & BEAUTIFULLY painter/converted/based miniature, now that is a winning combination. VERY WELL DONE!

Another take on the subject, this time a bit less arcane looking and more suitable for scifi, superhero, and horror gaming.  Teleportal rings are a great way to travel instantaneously in perfect safety:

But they are a bit fragile and even small amounts of damage can lead to some continuum leakage in the warp link:

Which can lead to some unfortunate intrusions from the Other Side:

60mm in diameter, mounted on 45mm bases.
