Is this behemoth going to be able to travel? It looks dangerously fragile for such a labor of love.

Your work is nothing short of amazing.  :o

The holes are punched out with a single hole punch bought from an art shop (and a thick glove).
We are intending to transport it to London so it will be built in the sections that hopefully fit into boxes. We are still thinking of how to connect it all together when we get there. Magnets may be an idea.

magnets may be a very good idea, unless their adhesion is stronger than the glue joints

That really is absolutely awesome. Regarding fixing it together, you could use some magnetic tape, that doesn't tend to be quite as strong , but how you'd get it to adhere to those thin edges I'm not so sure.

Sorry guys we never really had any proper plans. My brother came up with the original cross member shape. Which we have now used as a template for the rest of the crossmembers. The different crossmembers at the front and back are smaller versions of this same template.

That makes it even worse. Something this good done almost "on the fly". I think I'll take up crochet  :'(

So is it going to be open topped or are you going to make the entire top half lift off?

No plans at the moment to have a top.

Wouldn't expect one... no need.

The level of detail that appears to be going into this one staggers my imagination, to be quite honest...  o_o

Keep up the good work!

And to think they used to lock insane people up before the "Care In The Community" bill was passed. I'm glad they don't now  ;)

This could well be the most impressive scratch-build I've ever seen  8)

Coming along nice.  Regarding mating the sections together.  Are they going to mounted on any kind of bases?  Maybe attaching separate bases together somehow would be better than relying on the zeppelin structure to hold them together.
Also where did your brother get the furniture from if you don't mind me asking.  Looks like it fits well with the minis.  I got some projects in my head and they'd save some time.

I think the 1/48 furniture is from a range called "Mini Dollhouse Furniture". I have a few packs off ebay and it looks immensely usable. Suitable for both Old West and Pulp/WW2.
