Still not sure how we are going to attach it all together.

Could you bolt it together?

Might also be worth a thought to have a central single piece spine (like a keel) which runs underneath most of the length (easiest to hide).

Regarding magnets, how about the flexible stuff that you can get from L-plates and GB signs for the car etc.  A quid for a pair of L-plates from a cheapo shop should provide a fair amount of magnetic sheeting.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

hmm

model ships do have a support from unerneath...
how about rectangular squares with semicircukar cutouts, 2 for every section, with a spine underneath that connects all.

Acrylic glass of course

like a ribcage with the model inside

There is a german plane on board.
So it´s a german zeppelin. Commanded by someone with a monocle. Someone like Max von Schnackelsdorf - Zastrow!
Being a german zeppelin, commanded by Max von Schnackelsdorf - Zastrow, it´s on a mission to accomplish some diabolic / sinister plan for world domination and / or overthrowing democracy on a world wide scale.
Before the army, navy, airforce and/or the coast guard helped by a hero and a blonde busty sidekick can save the world, the zeppelin needs:
Floodlights! :D
