« on: June 08, 2010, 06:01:24 PM »
I am planning to make a african savannah board, i want the board look like this picture.

I am going to start by making the board like this http://www.quindia.com/studioart11.htm

But how should i continue to make it more like the picture?

Trapped in time. Surrounded by miniatures. Low on paint.

Wow!  :o

I am afraid I cannot help you, but I look forward to see the response you will get. I am currently reading Wilbur Smith "Assegai" and I need a savannah too!!!

Nothing says savannah like acacias, elephant grass and kopjes (rocky outcrops where prides of lions make their home).

Take a look at the colonial gameboard of our friend Frank: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19416.15

Here's a little something on acacias to: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19311.msg234618#msg234618

As you can see if you follow the thread he's promised to make a 'How to...' on acacia trees. Let's hope he stays true to his word and sees thit as a reminder... ;)

I am personally also curious on how he made his elephant grass bases. I think I can deduct that he uses a mix of plastic plants and rubberized horse hair on washers but it'd be nice with a howto on this to.

This might help you out. Or at least offer an alternative idea.
