Nicked from frothers: Foam sources
« on: 10 June 2010, 10:47:11 AM »
...because it is very useful, at least to our UK readers:

http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26375

Particularly he linky in particular looks very promising for all kinds of material, even to a non-UK resident:

http://www.modelshop.co.uk

For our Swedish members I recommend this, both the store and online shop:

http://www.materialbutiken.se/

This outfit is pretty new but is a spin-off from a urban hardware store which has realized they have a customer base in the Södermalm arty-farty/hobbyist/craft people. If anything is missing I am sure they are open to suggestions.

I must say, don't go to 4D modelshop, they are way too expensive. You are better off going to suppliers direct. A few minutes searching on the web will yeild quite a saving in the long run.

Our company stopped going to 4D years ago.

cheers

Yes, I noticed they are expensive but I bet there are others but me who are fans of one-stop-shopping.

Hammers, materialbutiken was actually cheap... I'm surprised, usually get my "pannå" (that's swedish arty-farty for Foamboard) from NK's thrown prints (they do a zillion a year). They're free, so difficult to get better than that ;)
For the Swedes:
You can get your styrofom (pink/blue foam) from Hornbach and Byggmax for a reasonable price, knowing that most swedish members lives in the woods, the chances are great that there's some retailer within driving distance :)

That's certainly fair enough  :)

Thanks, nobody knows what this stuff is in Denmark. According to Thorbjørn apparently it's illegal to sell here - something to do with poisonous gases and Danish draconian law-making....
