Here is some inspiration for anyone interested in making some dungeon pieces.

It's a pretty good and simple tutorial and cheap.

Damn, beaten to the punch on that one. Then again I had years to do it...

That is a fantastic tutorial, I've always wanted to play Warhammer Quest on a 3D dungeon!

Very nice. Looks as good as the HirstArt blocks dungeons I've seen.

Absolutely great! I'm really impressed, this looks like the answer to many a night of deep thoughts about how to achieve something like that. Wonderful stuff!

Very very nice, there's something exceptionally appealing about 3D dungeons that is really appealing.

Thanks for posting. Been meaning to do something similar with foam for an Egyptian crypt.

Question... what tool is used to square the tiles? Xacto?

Oops. Found my answer in that thread:

Quote
I draw the tiles on the foam with a pen using a ruler. When I cut the grooves out I just do it freehand following the lines I've drawn. I go accross the floor piece doing all the horizontal lines and then I do the vertical ones, thus creating the grid of movement squares. Each line takes two passes using the tip of a sharp xacto. Go along one side of the line at a 45 degree angle and then go along the other side at a 45 degree angle so that your tip meets the slice made on the other side. This will carve out a triangle shaped groove. Don't be too picky about neatness here as a certain amount of irregularity looks more natural.

Looks like just the thing for building a "Super Dungeon Explore" board (for the forthcoming boardgame from Soda Pop Miniatures). Nicely done!

It doesn't take long, I only have a few rooms and corridors made so far though I score my block work too after finding making individual blocks to time consuming. I hadn't been at the project long before I started building real rooms at the back of my house so no photos yet. I'll see what I can get posted up soon though.

It really is simple and cheap though.

Great work and skill there - far better than some commercial stuff I've seen!
