White on custom decal sheets?

Most ink jet printers for home use do not print white, as far as I know. How does one go about printing white symbols on clear decal sheets? A common problem, I suspect...

iirc there are white decal sheets, failing that get an old ASP-printer or go to one of the custom decal shops.

Or you can cheat a bit and raise the white stuff with about 2-5 percent black (depends on your printer). That's almost white and you can paint on the decals afterwards

Wouldn't that just come out as very widely dispersed black dots on an inkjet?

I just paint white the surface to which the transfer will be applied, and then retouch the surrounding colours as necessary.

you can use laser printer, or leave transparent the part, and paint white the mini below...

You need an ALPS printer...  Best way to do it.

Oddly enough, a company B staffer has one of these, but we have yet to try it, since we like to keep our current suppliers busy. They do good work, and none of us runs an old enough OS or laptop to use the printer driver. (we are going to test run it in July, fingers crossed)

We have thought about offering space on our current sheets for just white printing, or full color for small runs.  Since we'd do this with reprints of our current sets and suppliers, it would be subject to a specific schedule, but that only means either a two week to 2 month wait. The benefit is it would be cheaper than a service, since your hitching a ride so to speak on our sheet. I guess we'd need a test case first though, and see what a fair price would be to cover the paper and supplies.

my UNIT decals are white decal sheet... easy enough to use, however you either need to cut very precisely or paint over to the edge of the design you want to keep (if that makes sense)...

I'd pay for a service like that. And as I have said before, I don't mind waiting as long as I know I'll be wating.
