Celtos Commission
« on: June 22, 2010, 11:24:39 AM »
I have had to put Medusa aside for a little while as I have just had a commission come in for over 20 Celtos miniatures that the customer wants asap plus another one for 12 Space Marines as well. I have done the first two Celtos figs and will be starting the next one today, the bases are not done yet, they will be done when I have a few finished to make the basing job less tedious.

Next mini on the workbench is a standard bearer, I have made a start and apart from a really crap face (there is very little definition in it) it should prove to be a nice mini to paint.

I use Dwarf flesh for the base tone, highlight up to Elf Flesh then I use Leviathan purple wash sparingly in the recesses, some of the darkest tones are done by adding a touch of Dark Flesh into the base colour again added sparingly.

It would never occur to me to use purple, but the it looks great and now I think about it, of course. And very nice work btw.

Actually, artists are taught to mix in blue to the colour for painting shadows, so it's not completely un-understandable....
