Napoleonic: British gun from victrix

What a nice bit ... Thanks to Julian from Victrix! I painted this gun for them, and the sprues are just high quality, but get yourselves an impression!

Absolutely fantastic work. The entire diorama has such an amazing quality for detailed work. Ireally like how you put dirt and mud on the wheels, and the weathering on the wood, especially where the gunners sat is fantastic! How did you do the muddy effect and the weathering? I would really like to know so I can give both techniques a try. Thanks for sharing.

 Cool

I painted it like this:

*Undercoat with Foundry Brazen 36A
*A wash withGW Scorched Brown
*then another coat with Foundry Brazen 36A
*A lost coat with Foundry Shiny 36C

Then I took the vallejo pigments (Light Slate grey - light Yellow Ochre - brown Iron Oxide - Natural Umber) and applied them with a bit of water. I used every pigment in a single step. After you've done all steps and they are dried, take all pigments again, and dab it over the gun and the wheels etc.

i hope this helps.

I think it's a NOCH tree (or was it Heki?). Simple add some foliage or leaves.

Nicely done! I'm so glad Victrix went to the trouble to model trunnion caps on the guns.  It's one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to artillery miniatures.  I hate having to model my own.

Great set of miniatures from Victrix, nice paintjob on the figures and gun, but extraordinary and beautiful basing and model vegetation!

Thanks for the tip. I will have to get some pigments and try it. The effect is very cool.
