Indian VSF Chaos (some photographic material included)
« on: 28 June 2010, 08:44:06 AM »
This weekend we had a small private gathering of the more sophisticated kind. A select few Danish wargaming pioneers and intellectuals were gathered in what can only be described as luxurious and exquisite surroundings to deal with matters of the highest importance.

Jonas, Mr. Cigarface and I decided that a gargantuan VSF game was in order. Mr. Figarface had never tried the G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. rules before so we thought a massive clash was the best and most chaotic introduction.

In short we hadn't thought up a scenario and just unloaded all our minis on the table. Not our usual style, but fair enough to prove the point..

The following account won't be very detailed as that would be besides the point.

And so it begins. Indians and Prussians form an alliance to fight the British oppressors.

This is 40k.

No wait.. there's an elephant and strange turban guys. It's still VSF then.  ;)

Prussian armour steaming through the mud and the bl.. jungle

Stout British defenders.. yada yada

The excellent Indian expedition of Mr. Cigarface. Oh well part of it anyway.

Raal Magumba seems to have strangely survived many a peril and has turned up on the field of battle again.

British sign language in progress

Love drama!

Indians assault a tank with sticks of dynamite

Magumbo sends forth his horde of POW's

Prussian askaris shoot to thrill

See if you can spot the lama. It's mute.

"Overview"

Tedious task this writing business really..

I frankly don't remember this part. There was some beer involved I'll admit as much.

Ahh yes - Lord Cornwall charged the Prussian Unfindbarium Jägers and then I hasted to the scene with my sailors.

The cortege of Baba Yaga advances with flute players and everything in order. The flutes were able to take control of the enemy I think. Nasty buggers. Cthuloid stuff

Midgame one of the elephants toppled. Well, due to intense firing.

I managed to get the drill up under the Queen's finest tank.

After which, the Queen managed to get stuck under a dino that an ape with huge steam fists had just put to rest. Gawd!

Haven't we seen this pic already?  lol

I rest my suitcase

The clockwork automatons have apparently emerged from the drill at this point.

And it would seem that the sailor weren't intending to help out the Unfindbarium Jägers anyway..

..Instead another clump of Prussians are..

Oh well. Here ends the report of this mighty game. We didn't finish it, but that didn't matter anyway as it was clear to all that the British forces were on the retreat.

I think that although I enjoyed throwing dice and mumbling strange sounds, the awesomeness of so huge games passes shortly after having deployed.. I like the scenarios better. At least for gaslight.
The fighting in our background is more that of small skirmishes.

But I had fun and had a lot of beer.  lol

Why thank you!  I do promise that we'll work out an actual scenario next time though...

I hope someone will return the favour at BLAM. ;D

Great game, not the best "scenario" though  lol

It seems like even total chaos can be fun with the right people, the right surroundings and beer.

And I think I can promise too, that we will have a better scenario next time  ;)

I love how in the second picture the one sailor seems to be mugging for the camera.
