Pig Iron Heavy Infantry (with some head swaps)
« on: July 14, 2010, 10:39:40 PM »
I started these a couple of years ago but was never satisfied with the pj so put them aside. I do like the conversions though so recently did a bit of retouching and finishing off...

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I agree with Calimero - very nice. Neat and dusty and battle-worn at the same time. Cool camo too. And yet again I'm reminded of minis that I've had my eye on for a while, but have managed to resist buying...until now!

Lovely job as ever, camo breakdown would be much appreciated.

Where are the other heads from then? Don't recognise them. Oh and the one with the helmet up on his head, (like all those little moped chavs you see around), think that think would be a little too bulky for that but again all works all good.

i'll list the camo colours when i get a chance to look at the paint bottles (tonight) and explain method...
All the heads are Hasslefree - taken from various headsets (including elves!). Some are earless (hence the helmet on top of head over the ears). two are lopped off figures Grant and....? I'll get back to you.
Thanks for the very supportive comments guys!

Beautiful, as always, Dwartist.

I really like the 'one size fits all' look you've done by including Kendra in the lot of figures. And I still haven't a clue as to why I haven't ordered anything from PIP yet... ???

I've decided that I'll either buy a bunch of PI or HF figures in a few days and buy the others for Christmas, so yes, yes I suppose. I haven't the clue why not, myself. They're lovely figures and I've been wanting some of their militia heads for some time too. :)

Very nice - that's the sort of pictures they should have on their webpages!

Wow! Yes, these are a great advert for them  :-*

The HF heads fit in really well. Is the female one Kendra? Their figures always seem to be a lot smaller than they really are - probably due to their more realistic proportions than some other ranges. A lot of them are actually compatible with Copplestone etc, which is nice.

I'd really love some Pig Iron stuff. I'm still p****d off that I got to their stand at Triples too late to get the stuff I wanted  >:(

Now I'm skint and will have to put them on the Christmas list  :'(

I agree with the Commander about Lise and Si. I've had the pleasure of communicating with Si back when he launched PIP about his stuff and future plans and he was quite a nice fellow to talk to. And he's always eager to hear input from folks.

As I said over at TMP Dwartist, very nice work. This has inspired me to take my PI Heavy Infantry in a whole new direction.
